FCC Commissioner Calls for TikTok. to delete
In the recent turn of events, Federal Communications Commission Commissioner Brendan Carr has called for a ban on TikTok in the US. Carr took to Twitter and shared the letter he sent to Apple CEO Tim Cook and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai. The letter asks the tech giants to remove TikTok from their respective App stores.
The reason for advocating the ban on TikTok has to do with the data security of the app. In a tweet, Carr said: “TikTok is not what it seems at first glance. It is not just an app for sharing funny videos or memes. That’s the sheep’s clothing. At its core, TikTok functions as an advanced monitoring tool that collects large amounts of personal and sensitive data.”
